During this year in social studies, we will look at several periods of United States history (1775 - 1865).

  First, we'll start off with the "times that try men's soul" (Thomas Paine) - the American Revolution. Our next unit will focus on government.  During this time, we'll look at the formation of our government, the Bill of Rights, and United States Constitution.  As we continue our study, we will look at how the United States expanded, slavery and the Civil War.
